Seventh Entry - Finish the Unfinished Matter..

Date : 10 February 2010 - Wednesday.
Place: K-Broadcast, Library KPMIM.
Time : 10.30 a.m. - 1.30 p.m.

During this 3 hour class, Miss Shazwani asked us to proceed with the presentation, as it is left unfinished during the previous class, which was before the mid-term break. Basically, we learn about 'Language, perspective and ideology' where we learn on the skills to answer the seventh rule in critical literacy which is perspective, 'Language' which we learn how the word use in an article can give a lot of meanings to the reader, especially on determining the authors true purpose, 'Sketch of a possible language approach' where we can differentiate how an article can be evaluated, 'Discourse and Genres' that will help us on the eight rule, positioning, 'Evidence' which we think that it is very interesting to become CSI, or basically one of the most important reading in order for us to be CRITICAL THINKER and lastly 'Statistics' where we can learn how to evaluate some percentage of findings of some research, plus we also know that there are also statistic which is not valid.

Overall, the presenter are able to present their topic effectively, and also in a short period of time. Im impressed with the members of my class for their full support and attention during the presentation session. In addition, they also able to involve in the discussion regarding some issue with our lecturer. For me, these kind of nature in class help me in order to create a good atmosphere of learning in class and also help me to enhance my understanding regarding each and every topic in the book.

In the next class, we have a little surprise. Miss Shazwani asked us to read 'Please, let me go to your school' article and we will have a short forum in the Friday class. Interesting! So we have to make ourselves in a group of 5, discussed and pick a representative for each character in the passage. It is a short and hilarious forum, i would say the least. Each and every one of them understand their role and manage to answer all the questions given by the moderator, the beautiful and talented, Rasinah. At the end of the class, everyone manage to understand the scenario and can improve the skills of becoming a critical thinker.
